Smart Image Searching
Searching for Images
One of the best ways to communicate your vision is with imagery. But finding the perfect picture to tell the story can be difficult when the whole world is at your fingertips. There are tools to help!
Pinterest (www.pinterest.com)
Pinterest is a great tool for searching for images of a particular subject. Simply type in a conversational sentence “luxury wedding seating chart display” and wait to be overwhelmed! TIP: I have found it helpful to add luxury and wedding before my searches. The only drawback is you will often be presented with the same images everyone is using. Try including style/vibe words (classic, boho, contemporary, etc.) or omitting “wedding” to get inspirational ideas from other avenues – like fashion or interior design.
Google (www.google.com)
Google Images
From a desktop computer, navigate to images.google.com
Tap the camera in the search bar.
Search for your image.
Google lens (available in the Apple Store and Play Store) to search for images from your phone. There will be a multicolor camera icon on your Google search bar.
This is helpful in finding the original, larger, or better-quality image when you have an unsuitable image on your phone – i.e. someone sent you a tiny screenshot. Search results may also produce similar images that may be better for your purposes.
Of course, there are many other ways to search, but this should get you started!
